Ibo Restaurant Review

Cheesecake

Ibo restaurant in Cais De Sodre Lisbon for the main I had the steak with gorgonzola sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce accompanying was dreamy. There was alot of sauce and I didn’t think that I could possibly finish it but I assure you I did. It came with salad and hand cut fries which were also good. My only complaint would be that the fries were simply warm and not hot as I’d have liked. The cheescake was the best I’ve ever had, simply superb. The filling was light and the base too was light not stodgy and full of sugar granules as it sometimes is. The topping was indulgent and delicious.

Why I Love Salvador Da Bahia, Brazil – Part 1

At Christmas I will go to Salvador Da Bahia, Brazil for the 5th time. I have been asked many times before what I love about the place, so I decided to put it all down here. First on my list of loves had to be THE FOOD. Being a complete foodie means that I can be compelled to take a trip somewhere just because of the food, case in -point; New Orleans. I heard about the cuisine down there, dreamt about it, decided that I needed to sample it and took a trip down there and ate for England. Of course I had to spin it to the friends I was travelling with some shit about the French Quarter… The marvellous culture yadda yadda yadda, but the simple truth is, I just wanted to eat.

Chasing A Rastaman Called Viviane

It started off with a kiddie’s party. My friend’s son’s first birthday.”1 today!” “Happy Birthday!” While I was setting the tables up I started nibbling, Marshmellows, Tortillas, Mini chocolate sponge cakes, Chocolate rice krispy cakes… Ooooh remind me of coco pops… Turns the milk chocolatey. Popcorn, Nuts, Jelly babies. Somebody please put some sellotape over my mouth! By the time the real food came I was bursting, but being the glutton that I am I managed to find room.

I Was Brought Up And NOT Dragged Up!

There is a place that I go to for lunch sometimes. They do barbequed jerk chicken with salad for £3.50. It is affordable and ideal because there are no heavy carbs to make you feel bloated and distorted. It is also quick because the chicken is always on the grill and ready, fresh for my mouth. Not too long ago I had a bad experience there where I had ordered my food and when I had finished paying at the till there was no room in front of me to go to the counter where the food is picked up because there were a lot people in front of me queuing for their food. As I was standing in the way of the people that wanted to order I moved away to the far end of the food counter. I had my ticket so it wasn’t like I was trying to push in as the ticket tells the time of the order.

My 5 Days In Trinidad

On the day I am leaving I end up going earlier than my flight time with Jay to the airport because he told me I could go standby. BOOOO! There were no seats left and I had to wait for the next one! I had prebooked a room by telephone at La Calypso on French Street in WoodBrook under RP’s guidance. I like the area (lots of restaurants and I looooove food!), but the hotel looks like a prison. In one sense it is good because security is TIGHT, but then it leaves you wondering… why is it so tight? Did something happen there?

In Tobago I Found Out How Skinny People Stay That Way

On my last night we went and had dinner together at the Kariwak Hotel, and there was a buffet which amounted to TT$240 (£24 or $48) each which is rather expensive by Trinidadian standards. She had been talking about the place non stop for two days and when we got there all she ate was one piece of potato and bits of roasted vegetable. She picked up some mint lamb but never ate it. If I wanted to eat some roasted veg I sure as heck wouldn’t play that much for the pleasure.

Goat Roti and Shark n Bake On My First Day In Tobago

After watching the BET music awards on the TV until late late night. I woke up about 5 am and finished reading Kola Boof’s autobiography. I swear I would not have been able to rest until I finished it (it was that gripping) so it was a good job that I did so as soon as I got there. I love Kola Boof…She may come across radical but her observations are SPOT ON! I love the way that she doesn’t mince her words and is so raw with it.

Are Abusive Parents The Cause Of Childhood Obesity?

Overfeeding children is being likened to starving children. To an extent that is true as both have negative consequences but the difference is that parents who overfeed their children have different intentions to those that starve their children’s. Food is used as a treat, lack of food a punishment. Many parents think that they are showing their love by overfeeding their children. Although I was never fat as a kid and it wasn’t unhealthy stuff she would do it with my mother was definitely a “feeder.”

Stop Eating My Plantain You Greedy Bitches

The girls we met in the sports shop that day in Landover mall were called Josephine and Courtney. While we didn’t see Courtney again, Josephine became a permanent fixture for the rest of our time there. The day after meeting Jospehine, Henry went to work without dropping us off at the mall on his way. The routine was broken… The bastard had left us in his house in the sticks to fend for ourselves, and we sure did fend..

Stealing Kebab From A Blind Woman And More Gravaliciousness

To me gravalicious means being unnecessarily craven, greedy beyond measure. I always used the word but I didn’t know where it came from. After typing it into Google I learnt that it is a Jamaican patois word. I was thinking about gravalicious behaviour because today my work buddy told me how he went to buy lunch for himself and the blind woman that he works with. He bought her a kebab and for himself two McDonald meals. I asked him why he bought himself two meals and he said that he couldn’t decide what to have and so had bought both.
