My 5 Days In Trinidad

On the day I am leaving I end up going earlier than my flight time with Jay to the airport because he told me I could go standby. BOOOO! There were no seats left and I had to wait for the next one! I had prebooked a room by telephone at La Calypso on French Street in WoodBrook under RP’s guidance. I like the area (lots of restaurants and I looooove food!), but the hotel looks like a prison. In one sense it is good because security is TIGHT, but then it leaves you wondering… why is it so tight? Did something happen there?

The Lecherous American Fool in Bakau

Lecherous fool

We arrived in Bakau, Gambia on a Friday night. On Saturday night we hit the road looking for food. Our hotel served no African food, authentic or otherwise. Everything was served with chips (fries) and cabbage. We enter a hotel not too far down the road from us. There is a guy wondering round on the grounds. He is kind of cute and wearing a purple and gold African print shirt. Hmmm… Talent in The Gambia and it’s only the second day. I’m impressed!

Homeless In South Beach Miami

Clay Hostel and Hotel

It was the summer of 1999 and I was 19 and on holiday in Maryland and Miami with 3 friends. In Maryland we all stayed with one of the girl’s uncle and then we had booked a week stop over in Miami, but had not booked accommodation or even thought about it. We figured we would just find it when we got there How on earth we were going to do this with suitcases in tow I don’t even know. But at the time, we didn’t care our attitude was completely care free.
